Current Kids

Making Disciples. Anchoring Hope.

“We have this hope as an anchor for
the soul, firm and secure.”

Hebrews 6:19a

Current Kids exists to help children grow in their faith, experience the love of Jesus, and build a hope that is anchored in Him.

Everything we do is designed to come alongside families as we disciple the next generation together.

Safety

It’s our priority that children are welcomed into a safe environment and cared for by trained volunteers that parents can trust.

Everything we do points to Jesus. From lessons and worship to play and conversation, our goal is to help kids know who Jesus is and how much He loves them.

Kids ministry is so much fun! As we learn about God, kids have the space to make friends, play, laugh, and truly enjoy being at church.

Our Classrooms

Each classroom incorporates activities specifically designed for the unique developmental stage of that age group, taking into account diverse learning styles and, most importantly, nurturing spiritual formation.

Babies

(6 weeks – 23 months)

The Babies room is often the first experience a child has with the body of Christ, so we’re intentional about making it special. Our volunteers create a sweet, safe environment where worship music fills the room as each little one is uniquely cared for, prayed over, read Bible stories, and encouraged in their stage of physical and spiritual development.

Preschool

(3 years – Kindergarten)

Preschoolers experience engaging Bible stories, practical object lessons, memory verse challenges, video lessons, and vibrant worship—all designed to meet their unique developmental stage!

Toddlers

(2 years – not yet potty trained 3s)

Children are never too young to experience God’s love–and our toddlers class shows that! This class involves a combination of music, Bible stories, object lessons, playtime with friends, memory verses, and video lessons all designed to help littles learn about God and how much he loves them.

Elementary

(1st – 5th Grade)

Childlike faith isn’t shallow—it’s deep! In Elementary, we focus on building biblical literacy, teaching kids how to study the Bible, and helping them grow a personal relationship with God. Kids engage with a personalized curriculum, creative retellings of Bible stories, practical lessons that apply God’s Word to daily life, memory challenges, intentional worship, and more.

Partnering with families for the spiritual formation of children

Child dedication is a commitment parents make to raise their child in a God-honoring environment, to pray over them, to read the Bible to them, and to faithfully attend church. We see this example in Scripture when Hannah dedicates Samuel to the Lord (1 Samuel 1), when Samson’s parents set him apart for God’s purpose (Judges 13), and when parents are commanded to surround their children with teachings of God’s love (Deuteronomy 6:4-7).

As a church, we celebrate this commitment, offer resources for your child’s spiritual formation, and pray over your family as a community of believers.

Child Dedications occur twice a year and are suggested for parents of children between the ages of birth to 4 years old. Please see the Events page for information on the next Child Dedication.

Child Dedications

Salvation

A child’s decision to follow Jesus is the greatest choice they will ever make! If your child is asking questions about salvation and you would like support with this important conversation, please download our Parent Guide. Our Children’s Pastor would be honored to connect with you for prayer and support during this beautiful spiritual milestone. And if your child has recently made this life-changing decision at home, we would love to celebrate them and give a spiritual development gift!

Baptism

Baptism is an outward expression of an inside decision to follow Jesus. If your child has accepted Jesus as their Savior and would like to share this news with others, baptism is their next step!

To ensure that each child is fully prepared, understands baptism, and has a meaningful personal experience, our Children’s Pastor would love to connect with your family and have a short, fun conversational teaching about baptism. To sign your child up for a baptism conversation, please complete this form.

We Can’t Wait to Meet Your Family

Planning to visit Current Kids and want to skip the line? You can preregister your child! On your visit, come to a Current Kids check-in station and let one of our volunteers know it’s your first time and that you’ve preregistered. They will be excited to greet your family, give you a tour of the space, and help get your kiddos checked in to their class.

Current Kids FAQs

  • Safety is our top priority at Current Kids! All classrooms are staffed with background checked and trained volunteers. According to our volunteer-to-child ratios, a safety team member oversees the entrance/exit to our kids building at all times to ensure only approved adults enter the building, and every parent is given a tag to match their child’s unique code for pick-up. We are happy to share more details of how we keep everyone safe, found in our Policies & Procedures document, with any parent!

  • We’re so excited to welcome your family to Current Kids! On your first visit, you’ll be greeted by a Current Kids team member who will help you check-in. You’ll receive a parent pick-up tag with a unique code that matches your child’s name tag. We’ll give you a tour of our space, introduce your child to their room leader, and answer any questions you may have!
