What Serving Looks Like

Serving on a team is a practical way to live out the Great Commission — making disciples by creating spaces where people can experience Jesus.

It looks like showing up consistently, contributing your unique gifts, and working alongside others toward a shared mission.

Every team — from hospitality to tech, worship to kids — plays a meaningful role in welcoming and connecting people to Jesus and the community.

Serving isn't just a task. It's a way of living out your faith alongside others who are doing the same.

Where You Can Serve

  • Current Kids is the children's ministry of Current Church, serving families with children from birth through 5th grade. Every Sunday, our volunteers create a safe, joyful, and gospel-centered environment where kids encounter Jesus in age-appropriate ways.

    From greeting families at check-in to bringing Bible stories to life through creative retellings, our team makes a lasting impact on generations. Volunteers pray with children, build real friendships, care for the littlest ones, and model what a Christlike life looks like — all while making sure kids have a great time at church.

  • The Guest Experience team creates an intentional, welcoming, and safe environment for every Current Church service. Whether it's someone's first visit or their hundredth, this team ensures every person who walks through our doors feels seen, cared for, and at home.

    Hospitality & Ushers

    Our hospitality and usher team welcomes families with warmth, helps new guests get connected, guides people to their seats, prepares coffee, and tends to every detail that helps create a space where people can encounter the presence of God.

    Security & Parking

    Our security and parking volunteers keep things running safely and smoothly — from directing traffic in the parking lot to maintaining a secure, peaceful environment throughout our services.

  • Current Worship leads our church into the presence of God each week through a blend of contemporary and traditional worship. Whether you play an instrument or sing, this team has a place for you.

  • Current Creative oversees the technology and media that supports the excellence of our Sunday services. This team works behind the scenes to ensure everything you see and hear reflects the intentionality of what God is doing at Current Church.

    Serving in areas like audio, video, and lighting, photography, and slides, the Current Creative team brings technical skill and creative vision together to serve the church every week.

  • The Prayer Ministry team faithfully lifts up the needs of our church family before the Lord — both on Sundays and throughout the week. This team serves as a consistent, prayerful foundation for everything Current Church does, interceding on behalf of those who trust us with their requests.

    If you have a heart for prayer and a desire to serve your church family in one of the most meaningful ways possible, this team is for you.

  • Every week, the Set-Up Team does something remarkable — they transform a school into a sanctuary. Meeting on Saturday afternoons, this team arrives before anyone else and works together to build the environment that makes Sunday possible.

    From unloading storage cases and constructing the stage, to hanging pipe and drape walls, arranging children's ministry spaces, and setting out chairs, this team's faithful work behind the scenes makes every service happen. If you love serving in a hands-on, high-impact way, this team would love to have you.
